I posted an update to an old post that I wrote on the Balinese Room.
Galveston is on the mend from Hurricane Ike, but it is a very slow mend. We have always loved the Island and we plan on many returns to it. Some of our favorite places are no longer there but the people are.

/ January 19, 2009Hurricane Ike was awful. Our good friend Tosha’s life was altered a lot and she’s still out of a home. It’s so sad to me. I’m hoping all the other people that we don’t know are doing okay. The news reports about it at the time and we never hear about it again.

/ January 20, 2009Joy ~ Our Governor made a trip down here last week and he made an appeal to the Federal Government which I thought was awesome. He asked that we be treated like the States of Lousiana, and Mississippi were during Katrina. It seems like we have been forgotten here in Texas.
