I Kissed A Squirrel

Awhile back I wrote Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance…But Not To This! about my youngest daughter singing along with the Katy Perry song “I Kissed a Girl”.

The other day the song came on the radio and just as I was about to change to a different station my little one asked if she could sing me the version of the song the boys were singing on the playground at school. Knowing that I can always use a  good playground laugh I told her to go ahead.

She started singing and I started cracking up!

Her version was “I Kissed a Squirrel and I liked it, the taste of it’s Nutty Chapstick!”

I went on YouTube to find her version of the song and sure enough there are plenty of them out there! I thought this version was great!

Lyrics:
This was sort of the way I planned,
I had some intentions.
I got so brave, acorn in hand,
Lost my direction.
It is what I’m used to,
just wanna take it on.
I’m curious for it
Caused my distraction!

I kissed a squirrel and I liked it,
The taste of its acorn chapstick.
I kissed a squirrel just to try it,
I hope my hamster don’t mind it.
It felt so wrong it felt so right,
doesn’t mean I am going to his tree tonight.
I kissed a squirrel and I liked it, I liked it.

No, I don’t even know if its tame,
It doesn’t matter.
Some people just don’t feel the same,
He’s part of nature.
It’s not what normal people do,
Not how they should behave.
My head gets so confused,
hard to obey!

Those squirrels are so magical,
Soft fur, small eyes, so kissable.
Hard to resist so touchable,
Too good to deny it.
Ain’t no big deal its innocent.

  2. It’s like you read my mind or something girl! My granddaughter was singing this song a few weeks ago. I’ll admit, the tune is very catchy but it sound funny coming “from her.” So I asked her dad, my son if he liked that song and he said “ya, it’s a good song, why?” To which I replied that Trinity was singing it and it didn’t sound good coming from her. He got a funny look on his face and said, “oh, I don’t like that!” It was humorous.

This song cracked me right up!!! LMAO!!!
