Video & Question Of The Week

Alice in Wonderland

Question of the week: Would you go see a movie by yourself in the theater or would you just wait for it to come out on DVD?

  1. I don’t like to see movies by myself for some reason. I want to see this movie, Alice in Wonderland, but nobody else does. I wanted to see Avatar but nobody else wanted to see it with me. I usually just sit back and wait for them to come out on DVD but then I know nobody wants to see it so most of the time I never even rent them! What a horrible cycle! I think I may just have to start going to the movies by myself!

I have never even thought about going to a movie by myself! I don’t think I would. I DO want to see Alice in Wonderland and like Avatar (which I still haven’t seen) I want to see them in a theater. I think certain movies are better seen that way. My husband does not do theaters. I think we’ve gone to one 3 times and always with other people. He’s a smoker and just knowing he can’t have one for 2+ hours gives him anxiety or something. We have this theater about 10-15 minutes away that has a bar in it. I even suggested going there so he could have drink to substitute the cigs. Nope, if he drinks he’ll want to smoke! I can’t win! LOL I’d go with you if I was close to you!!!

    • I never used to do theaters either because I smoked. Now I love going to the movie theater, it makes the movie just a little bit better.

  3. I don’t “do” movie theaters either. I hate the thought of “who sat in this seat before me” and I always end up sitting beside someone who drowned in perfume of someone who’s 10 feet tall. So, I would never even think of going to a movie alone.

  4. It took me years to see movies by myself. I still don’t like it, but I’ll do it if I have to, but only in the daytime. I used to work at a theatre, and those night crowds are crazy and loud, can’t handle them in my Fibromyalgia state.

Am I crazy, or does this move not look to good? I enjoy all of Burton’s films, so maybe I am just tired of Alice … or Johnny Depp, if that is possible?

  5. Ohhh…I can’t wait to see this! They have come a long way on 3D you would be amazed. Avatar was incredible. I saw it twice and really want to see it again before it goes out of the theater.

You know I have seen movies by myself and would again. When the lights go out no one cares, and besides I like having the popcorn all to myself. Ha.

    I say DO IT!!

I would absolutely go on my tod to see a film. I have done. I also want to see Alice in Wonderland. Thanks for showing the trailer. It looks typical for Tim Burton and I think it should be loads of fun.

After reading Joy’s comment… I always wait till a film’s been out for awhile and then go. Usually the crowds have thinned and I don’t even have to sit by or behind anybody.

  8. I don’t think I could go to a move all by myself. I would wait for it to come out on DVD. I guess I would just feel too weird sitting there all by myself although I wouldn’t find it odd if I saw someone else in the theater alone. Strange eh? LOL
