Well first of all Big Bird hatched and I now have a beautiful little Granddaughter. I was there the moment she came into the world and she has spent a ton of time with me since. I even got her to laugh for the first time the other day. I know, surprising right?
School is in full swing and it has been a challenging year to say the least. My youngest daughter is now an 8th grader and she is in her last year at the Catholic School she has attended since Pre-K. I say it’s been challenging but I really should clarify. It’s been challenging for ME not my daughter! In the past two years we have had a new Principal and let’s just say we don’t see eye to eye on some things. I know this is going to be a shocker, but I tend to be a bit sarcastic and she does not know how to take me. This past week we had a meeting about a Washington, D.C. trip they will be taking and the Principal looked right at me and said, “Well I can certainly tell whose kid is who from this little meeting.” To which I replied, “Well, if my daughter is anything like me than I am rather proud. Thank you for the compliment.” Yeah, it’s going to be a long year!
Next weekend I am taking a ME weekend. A group of my friends rent a Beach House every year and every year I have had to say no. Well this year, since I am now divorced, I said YES! It is an all girl weekend and I am looking forward to it very much. On a sad note, one of the ladies that will be going with us lost her dog the other night. It truly was a freak accident. She came home from work and her little dog had gone digging through the trash and apparently got a Goldfish Cracker bag stuck on its head and suffocated. The other ladies want to do something to honor the little dog like have a cake made or something to bring to the Beach House. I love animals don’t get me wrong, I just find the circumstances of this situation very funny. I very badly want to ask if I should bring some Goldfish to the Beach. But I am trying to be good! I swear I really am!
